Roots & Shoots is Building a Cage

Roots & Shoots, a program started by Jane Goodall, is building Wild for Life a 60’ flight cage! A new chapter of Roots & Shoots was started at Carolina Day School and one of their first projects is to build a flight cage to house injured/orphaned large birds of prey that need training before they are returned to the wild. Chase Pickering, founder and president of the chapter, is organizing work days for Roots & Shoots volunteers, and other volunteers to come out and build. Roots & Shoots raised the money for the project in a variety of ways including bake sales, a fundraiser and proceeds from selling Endangered Species candy bars. The blueprints for the enclosure were drawn by retired architect, Tord Hellman. The construction of the project is being lead by Willie Warren from Fruit of Labor Worship Center. Roots & Shoots is making it happen!
